Responsibilities
- Own SDF's APAC business development effort, defining priorities across Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Japan, and Australia.
- Lead in-market execution, including conference participation, ecosystem meetups, institutional meetings, roundtables, thought leadership, and policy and regulatory introductions.
- Partner with the APAC Market Development Director to align business development priorities with regional market development strategy.
- Build and close partnerships with fintech companies, payment platforms, wallets, exchanges, and developer teams building on Stellar.
- Coordinate with marketing, legal, integrations, product, and other centralized teams to advance deals and support integration handoffs.
- Develop and manage institutional relationships with banks, digital asset platforms, and payment companies.
- Represent the APAC market internally, translating regional intelligence into strategic and product recommendations.
- Maintain accurate pipeline, integration, relationship, and strategic data in HubSpot and Airtable.
- Represent SDF at regional conferences and lead owned events such as builder roundtables and ecosystem meetups.
- Partner with marketing on press releases, video, blog posts, and social content supporting SDF's APAC presence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of business development, partnerships, or ecosystem experience, including substantial senior-level experience in or closely with APAC markets.
- Deep senior-level relationships across the APAC fintech, payments, blockchain, and institutional landscape.
- Experience with blockchain, digital assets, stablecoins, or tokenization.
- Understanding of cross-border payments, Digital Public Infrastructure, and financial inclusion.
- Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder partnership negotiations and closing deals.
- Experience navigating APAC regulatory environments, including MAS, SFC, HKMA, and FSA.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical value propositions clearly.
- Fluency in English; Mandarin or Japanese proficiency is a plus.
- Based in APAC and willing to travel extensively across the region and occasionally internationally.
