Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Airbnb’s legislative and public policy objectives, including advocacy priorities, positions, and strategies.
- Review legislative language, draft comments, and research issues affecting Airbnb’s priorities.
- Maintain relationships with legislative, executive, and administrative offices, allied groups, coalition partners, industry associations, hosts, and other stakeholders.
- Represent Airbnb in meetings with government and elected officials and other stakeholders.
- Manage consultants and agencies supporting campaign plans.
- Report progress accurately and regularly; flag roadblocks promptly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align policy plans with business priorities.
- Monitor and track legislation and regulatory matters.
- Lead strategic engagement with the National Assembly, ministries, regulators, and policy stakeholders.
- Define stakeholder strategies and engagement priorities aligned with business and policy objectives.
- Drive initiatives from concept through delivery, including planning, sequencing, internal alignment, and external follow-through.
- Exercise sound judgment in external communications, commitments, and escalation management.
- Maintain structured engagement with local district offices, ensuring realistic commitments, consistent messaging, and disciplined execution.
- Anticipate political dynamics, timing risks, and stakeholder sensitivities, and translate them into recommendations for leadership.
- Produce concise briefing materials, meeting readouts, and leadership updates.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience working with policy issues in a relevant business, political, governmental, legislative, or regulatory context.
- Experience with the National Assembly, central government, or an equivalent policy-facing role is highly preferred.
- Ability to quickly understand complex technical and regulatory issues.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and navigate a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, planning, memo-writing, and budgeting/basic accounting skills.
- Proficiency with major computer applications.
- Creative, entrepreneurial, proactive, and results-driven approach.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and writing skills.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, professionalism, interpersonal skills, judgment, and confidentiality.
