Senior Enterprise Sales Engineer
The Senior Enterprise Sales Engineer guides complex EMEA customers through technical evaluations, demonstrations, architecture discussions, and enterprise expansion. The role requires 5+ years in technical presales, experience with large customers, strong sales partnership, and practical knowledge of AI tooling, SQL, JavaScript, Python, and APIs.

Responsibilities
- Talk with potential customers, understand their problems, and assess whether Retool is a good fit.
- Identify technical stakeholders, use cases, timelines, and other requirements while managing the technical sales process.
- Convince customers and prospects that Retool is the right solution through demonstrations, architecture deep-dives, hands-on technical evaluations, and business case development.
- Showcase the Retool app builder and demonstrate how customers can build applications and automations using Retool, Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.
- Serve as the primary ongoing technical point of contact during the presales process.
- Represent the voice of the customer by synthesizing and raising themes, feature requests, and blockers with engineering and product teams.
- Represent Retool at conferences, webinars, and other external events.
- Partner with German-speaking customers and prospects across the DACH region, including occasional onsite visits to Germany.
Requirements
- 2+ years supporting customers and prospects in the Fortune Global 500, FTSE 100, DAX 40, or equivalent large-customer environments.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in technical presales roles.
- Strong technical generalist skills and enthusiasm for technology.
- Knowledge of agentic AI, inference, code generation, agent frameworks, and industry trends.
- Working knowledge of SQL, JavaScript, Python, and APIs.
- Strong sales acumen and experience partnering with account executives throughout the sales process, including qualification and pricing strategy.
- Ability to think quickly and solve problems during calls with technical customers.
- Right to work in the UK and willingness to be based in or relocate to the London office.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, AI-assisted development, agentic coding tools, and the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
- Experience with web development and containerized software.
- Experience with Command of the Message or MEDDPICC sales frameworks.
- Experience with enterprise expansion in large, complex global and European accounts.
