Responsibilities
- Set technical direction and define architecture patterns across multiple systems and domains.
- Make high-stakes technical trade-offs and communicate decisions to engineers, product teams, and executives.
- Lead complex, multi-team initiatives from architecture through delivery and operational excellence.
- Own reliability, scalability, and security for mission-critical systems.
- Design, prototype, and ship production systems using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex.
- Establish practices, guardrails, and review discipline for safe, high-quality AI-enabled development in a regulated environment.
- Mentor and coach engineers, raise engineering quality standards, and influence without authority.
- Build consensus and serve as a trusted technical advisor across engineering.
Requirements
- Typically 10+ years of software development experience.
- Track record delivering large, complex systems to production at scale and influencing technical direction across teams.
- Experience designing distributed architectures, ideally in AWS.
- Strong understanding of separation of concerns, scalability, loose coupling, and designing for failure.
- Experience designing systems where AI and agents are first-class architectural components, including agent design, orchestration, configurability, and guardrails.
- Sound judgment for building AI products responsibly in regulated environments.
- Experience with relational and document-oriented databases, including performance tuning and scaling.
- Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and frontend frameworks such as React.
- Fluency with automated testing, CI/CD, and modern code-management practices.
- Ability to communicate complex issues clearly to technical and executive audiences.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual base salary: $114,200–$267,800, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
