Responsibilities
- Lead customer projects involving database design, architecture, integration, implementation, documentation, research, benchmarking, performance and functional testing, reference architectures, sizing, migration, development, and tooling.
- Provide consultative support for strategic customers, users, and prospects during implementation, onboarding, production launches, and proof-of-concept engagements.
- Deliver architectural, technical, migration, and hands-on implementation assistance.
- Handle L1–L3 support cases and customer communications when not assigned to projects.
- Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Sales on product roadmaps and account plans.
- Create public and internal documentation, knowledge-base articles, learning materials, reference architectures, blog posts, and benchmark results.
- Assist with hiring and mentoring new team members.
- Participate in scheduling and on-call coverage for 24x7 global support.
- Travel onsite within the region up to an estimated 35%.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Professional Services, Support, Technical Account Management, Engineering/SRE, and/or Project Management.
- 5+ years implementing, operating, and/or supporting scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed database management systems.
- Broad and deep technical knowledge of database management systems, OLAP, cloud/SaaS platforms, distributed systems software engineering, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, system or network administration, and big data.
- Experience leading and delivering large-scope technical projects with multiple experienced engineers.
- Expertise with a public cloud provider and its infrastructure-as-a-service offerings, such as AWS EC2.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for a customer-facing role.
Nice-to-haves
- ClickHouse experience.
- Experience with open-source technologies as a user, community member, or contributor.
- Experience with Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS.
- Experience with data pipelines such as Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, or RabbitMQ.
