Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend infrastructure, APIs, and services at scale.
- Own the architecture and implementation of distributed systems behind high-volume, low-latency APIs.
- Solve scalability, latency, and performance problems in live production systems.
- Lead system design discussions and shape backend architecture.
- Establish backend development best practices for throughput, reliability, and latency.
- Validate performance through automated testing, benchmarking, and production-driven improvements.
- Trace production issues across services and the full stack, and ship durable reliability improvements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining core backend components.
- Ability to solve complex design, scalability, latency, or performance problems in high-throughput, low-latency production systems.
- Production experience with Java and Rust.
- Experience in cloud-native environments, particularly AWS.
- Comfort working across the stack and addressing infrastructure and platform challenges.
- Experience building highly available and scalable distributed systems.
- Self-starter who takes ownership, moves quickly, and balances detail with execution.
- Curiosity about emerging technologies and commitment to continuous learning.
