Responsibilities
- Develop backend systems that transform device data into accurate vulnerability matches, including production impact analysis.
- Maintain and operate backend services and pipelines for vulnerability detection, including deployments, monitoring, and incident response.
- Onboard vulnerability data sources with varied data and integration requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve detection accuracy and reliability.
- Investigate false positives and false negatives and trace issues to their root causes.
- Troubleshoot customer-reported detection issues and implement fixes efficiently.
- Analyze logs, reproduce edge-case bugs, and make safe changes in unfamiliar codebases.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software development experience, including exposure to live production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Experience building and maintaining REST APIs, such as with Django or FastAPI.
- Experience with databases and search or indexing datastores, including SQL, NoSQL, or Elasticsearch.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and scalability principles.
- Proficiency with AI-assisted engineering tools.
- Ability to work with inconsistent, unstructured, and dynamic real-world data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with vulnerability management, CVE/CPE data, or security tooling.
- Familiarity with Linux, macOS, and Windows systems internals.
- Experience with Redis or comparable caching solutions.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
