Responsibilities
- Execute end-to-end air shipments, including receiving bookings and coordinating with shippers, consignees, agents, airlines, trucking partners, terminals, and internal teams.
- Enter shipment data into systems; create files; complete MAWBs and HAWBs; process files accurately and on time; and file AMS or submit EDI (FHL/FWB) as required.
- Invoice clients and agents promptly, and check and approve subcontractor invoices accurately and on time.
- Provide customer service by following up on customer requests, claims, and feedback, and arranging shipments accordingly.
- Escalate irregularities or problems requiring assistance to senior staff or managers, and provide feedback on subcontractor standards and services.
- Ensure operational activities comply with international shipping regulations, company policies, and customer SOPs.
- Handle customer statistics, reports, and special requests related to system improvements.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date systems and high-quality data to meet KPIs.
- Collaborate with account managers, customers, and customs teams to ensure smooth operations and a strong customer experience.
- Identify and suggest process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
- Support teammates and take on additional tasks when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in air operations or related freight forwarding or logistics roles.
- Fluency in Japanese with strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Good written and spoken English communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, structured, and eager to learn global supply chain operations.
- Customer-focused, responsive, and professional when handling calls and customer inquiries.
- Flexibility and willingness to work weekends.
