Legal Operations Project Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end legal operations projects, including requirements gathering, workflow design and improvement, cross-functional coordination, implementation, and iteration for intake, matter management, advice requests, and policy changes.
• Translate priorities into project plans, timelines, and execution steps.
• Support AI enablement across Legal by identifying use cases, evaluating and piloting AI tools, and supporting training and adoption.
• Build and maintain legal metrics, dashboards, and operational reporting covering workload, turnaround times, risk patterns, and performance.
• Evaluate, implement, administer, and continuously improve the legal technology stack and vendor relationships across knowledge management, matter tracking, e-billing, spend management, document management, and contract tooling.
• Develop and maintain legal knowledge assets, including templates, playbooks, FAQs, self-service resources, and internal documentation.
• Support operational, administrative, systems, and data work as priorities evolve.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience in operations or project management, with responsibility for running and improving cross-functional systems, processes, or programs.
• Meaningful experience working in or closely with an in-house legal team.
• Experience designing and implementing processes, systems, and programs for Legal or other G&A functions, from requirements gathering through rollout and iteration.
• Ability to work with Legal and technical teams to translate business needs into practical process and system requirements.
• Experience or strong interest in applying AI tools in legal or professional services settings.
• Ability to operate with general guidance, balance competing priorities, and sustain momentum in a globally distributed organization.
• Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills.
• Familiarity with legal technology, including matter management, knowledge management, ticketing, and document repositories.
• Experience building and interpreting metrics.

Nice-to-haves

• Hands-on experience with CLM or contracting systems.
• Experience building or deploying AI-driven workflows, including agentic behavior, orchestration, prompt engineering, performance metrics, and safety protocols.
• Experience designing AI guidance, guardrails, or adoption programs for legal or professional services teams.

Compensation

• $99,200–$148,800 USD, depending on location.
