Staff Platform Manager, Payments Regional Growth
Owns the end-to-end product strategy, roadmap, and execution for Airbnb’s regional payments portfolio across Brazil, Mexico, and Latin America. The role focuses on checkout conversion, local payment methods, affordability products, regulatory requirements, and payment performance.

Responsibilities
- Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for regional payments across Brazil, Mexico, and the broader region.
- Optimize checkout and conversion by reducing booking friction and improving authorization, approval, and payment-success rates.
- Expand local payment methods and installment or affordability options.
- Drive the full product lifecycle, including discovery, PRDs, launches, ramp, experimentation, and iteration.
- Define requirements for processor and payment-method integrations with Partnerships and Engineering.
- Lead regulatory and compliance workstreams with Legal, Tax, Compliance, and Finance.
- Define and track KPIs across conversion, cost, reliability, and revenue.
- Monitor regulatory changes, competitors, and emerging payment rails.
- Partner with Engineering, Design, Analytics, Data Science, Finance, Compliance, Legal, Partnerships, and Country teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of product management experience, with a strong track record building and scaling payments or financial products.
- Deep understanding of the payments stack and money movement in marketplace environments, including pay-ins, payouts, and flow of funds.
- Strong checkout and conversion experience.
- Hands-on knowledge of authorization and settlement, processors and gateways, acquirers, card-scheme rules, 3DS/SCA, tokenization/vaulting, and reconciliation.
- Experience with local payment methods and affordability products such as wallets, bank transfers, and BNPL/installments.
- Familiarity with the LATAM payments ecosystem, including Pix, SPEI, regional wallets, and installment products, as well as local regulatory frameworks.
- Data-driven approach to defining KPIs, running experiments, and using analytics.
- Technical acumen and ability to partner closely with engineering.
- Strong product thinking and user empathy.
- English required; Portuguese and/or Spanish strongly preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
- Brazil monthly pay range: R$35.333,33–R$44.166,67 BRL.
- May also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
