Leads RF and cellular hardware integration for autonomous drone products, covering wireless architecture, coexistence, validation, certification, and production. Requires an advanced electrical engineering degree, 7+ years of complex RF product experience, and deep LTE/cellular expertise.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with EE, RF, antenna, mechanical, industrial design, and systems teams to optimize end-to-end wireless performance.
  • Define wireless system architecture, requirements, specifications, and performance targets.
  • Design, integrate, and validate wireless solutions across LTE/5G cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/GNSS, and other radio technologies and frequency bands.
  • Lead cellular hardware integration from architecture through bring-up, debugging, optimization, certification, and production ramp.
  • Drive RF coexistence and desense analysis across integrated wireless subsystems.
  • Perform circuit-level analysis to debug RF performance, interference, and desense issues; characterize aggressor/victim relationships.
  • Identify and mitigate board- and system-level noise sources.
  • Support product development from concept and prototyping through validation, qualification, carrier certification, PTCRB, regulatory approval, and manufacturing test.
  • Develop and execute wireless characterization plans, including TRP/TIS, OTA, throughput, range, and coexistence testing.
  • Partner with module vendors, certification laboratories, and carriers on cellular integration and compliance.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience developing wireless consumer or embedded products with complex RF systems.
  • Strong cellular hardware development experience, including LTE modem integration, RF front-end architecture, carrier requirements, and system bring-up/debug.
  • Deep understanding of LTE/cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/GNSS, and RF coexistence challenges.
  • Understanding of RF desense, EMI/EMC mitigation, radiated and conducted coupling, and system-level integration.
  • Experience with analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design and analysis.
  • Experience with PCB schematic review, layout guidance, RF routing, grounding, shielding, and power integrity.
  • Experience debugging and optimizing wireless performance in highly integrated products.
  • Hands-on experience with network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, CMW500, signal generators, power meters, near-field probes, and OTA test systems.
  • Experience with Ansys HFSS and Keysight ADS.
  • Experience performing and analyzing TRP, TIS, OTA, throughput, and rate-versus-range measurements.
  • Understanding of manufacturing test, production calibration, and wireless validation workflows.
  • Ability to independently drive complex technical problems across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience supporting products through PTCRB and carrier certification processes.
  • FAA Part 107 certification, or willingness to obtain it within the first 60 days where required.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual base salary: $206,000–$271,000.
  • Equity through stock options.
  • Health insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, holiday pay, and 401(k) savings plan.
