Senior Staff Software Engineer
Leads the design and delivery of scalable, fault-tolerant reporting and insights systems, including analytical dashboards and data exports. Requires 7+ years building distributed systems, strong programming and cloud experience, and a track record of technical leadership and mentorship.

Responsibilities
- Lead the Portal Reports and Insights application team.
- Design and implement distributed, fault-tolerant systems.
- Build high-performance reporting and insights applications capable of running nearly 10,000 reports per week.
- Develop reports that measure Bazaarvoice product and program performance and export client user-generated content, including questions, answers, reviews, and products.
- Build analytical dashboards and data visualizations that help clients understand trends and patterns.
- Lead software initiatives from conception through delivery.
- Drive engineering best practices and mentor engineering talent.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent education or work experience.
- 7+ years of experience building and supporting scalable, distributed systems using open-source tools.
- Hands-on experience with object-oriented programming languages and at least one scripting language, such as Java, C++, Python, or Ruby.
- Technical leadership and/or mentorship experience.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Experience writing complex SQL queries; PostgreSQL is a plus.
- Experience with an API framework, such as Spring Boot.
- Experience with a public cloud hosting provider, such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Experience using modern build tools such as Maven, Jenkins, and GitHub.
- Strong analytical, technical, and written and oral communication skills.
- Commitment to excellence and collaborative cross-functional work.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Amazon Web Services, including CloudFormation, EMR, S3, EC2, and CloudTrail.
- Experience with data visualization and analytics tools or frameworks such as D3.js, Tableau, or Looker.
