Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical owner of Tempest, Domino's scale and reliability platform, ensuring it remains reliable, extensible, and aligned with evolving infrastructure needs.
- Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks and resource misconfigurations identified through scale testing, partnering with platform and infrastructure teams to ship fixes.
- Deliver data-driven sizing recommendations for customer-facing documentation using empirical testing across deployment sizes.
- Improve Prometheus and New Relic instrumentation to strengthen observability and accelerate root-cause analysis during and after multi-day load tests.
- Establish and operationalize scale testing on cloud platforms, including sizing and configuration guidance.
- Partner with platform teams to enable scale and reliability testing across additional cloud providers.
- Build infrastructure automation that improves team efficiency and scales with product and customer growth.
Requirements
- Background in SRE, platform engineering, or infrastructure, with hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting distributed systems in production Kubernetes environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience working in large, modular codebases spanning orchestration, infrastructure automation, and systems integration.
- Experience with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, or similar tools, including writing queries, building dashboards, and diagnosing systems-level performance and reliability issues.
- Ability to profile services, identify resource bottlenecks, and work with engineering teams to deliver durable fixes.
- Familiarity with performance and load-testing methodologies such as Locust, k6, or similar tools.
- Strong ownership, communication, self-direction, and accountability in a remote, asynchronous environment.
Compensation
- Annual US base salary: $185,000–$210,000 USD.
