What you will do
- Lead and grow a team responsible for Rippling's core cloud infrastructure and production platform
- Define the long-term strategy for infrastructure scalability, reliability, and operational excellence
- Own Kubernetes platform architecture, cluster management, and production infrastructure lifecycle
- Drive infrastructure automation through Infrastructure as Code and platform self-service capabilities
- Establish best practices around observability, monitoring, incident response, and disaster recovery
- Partner with engineering teams to improve system reliability, deployment safety, and operational efficiency
- Lead large-scale infrastructure initiatives spanning multiple engineering organizations
- Develop and mentor engineers while maintaining a strong culture of ownership and technical excellence
- Drive improvements in cost efficiency, capacity planning, and cloud resource management
What you will need
- 8+ years of software or infrastructure engineering experience
- 4+ years of engineering management experience
- Deep expertise in AWS and large-scale cloud infrastructure
- Strong experience operating Kubernetes in production environments
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform and Helm
- Experience leading highly available distributed systems at scale
- Strong operational mindset with experience managing production incidents and reliability programs
- Experience developing senior engineers, Staff Engineers, and Principal Engineers
- Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills
