Associate Technical Services Engineer II
Provides technical support and expert problem solving for enterprise MongoDB customers across databases, cloud infrastructure, architecture, performance, recovery, and security. The role requires strong troubleshooting, communication, customer-service, and systems or database experience.

Responsibilities
- Advise customers and resolve complex MongoDB challenges involving architecture, performance, recovery, security, and related areas.
- Provide expertise on best practices for running MongoDB at scale.
- Investigate and troubleshoot database, cloud, infrastructure, and ecosystem issues.
- Advocate for customer needs when working with product management and development teams.
- Contribute to internal projects, including support-tool software development for performance, benchmarking, and diagnostics.
- Provide weekend coverage on a Tuesday–Saturday, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. schedule after ramping; some planned additional coverage may be required due to 24/7 support operations.
Requirements
- Strong technical experience in one or more of the following areas: systems administration, distributed systems, network administration, database architecture and administration, application architecture, data architecture and design, or performance tuning and benchmarking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer-service orientation and a genuine desire to help people.
- Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems in real time.
- Ability and willingness to rapidly learn new technical skills.
- Strong teamwork and judgment about when to seek assistance.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Java, Python, Ruby, C, C++, C#, JavaScript, Node.js, Go, PHP, or Perl.
- Experience administering large-scale production environments, including hardware, operating systems, networks, firewalls, load balancers, and cloud resources.
- Experience with Linux or Windows administration.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
