Senior Strategic Finance Manager, Retailer

Leads financial strategy, modeling, pricing, and negotiation support for retailer partnerships, managing portfolio economics and executive decision-making across the deal lifecycle. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the finance lead for retailer deal flow, setting financial strategy, shaping pricing philosophy, and driving portfolio-level decisions across retailer partnerships.
  • Develop decision frameworks, build financial models, and advise senior leaders during high-stakes negotiations.
  • Own the finance workstream for complex commercial agreements from initial scoping and pricing through negotiation, signature, and post-close performance tracking.
  • Establish financial modeling standards covering revenue share, incentives, advertising, and fulfillment economics.
  • Define and operationalize pricing philosophy, deal guardrails, pricing architecture, rate cards, and deal desk processes.
  • Build partner- and portfolio-level P&Ls, forecasts, dashboards, and investment evaluation frameworks.
  • Present tradeoffs, risks, recommendations, and performance results to executive audiences.
  • Collaborate with Partnerships, Legal, Revenue Operations, Accounting, Product, Deal Desk, Data Science, and Analytics.
  • Develop analysts and managers and raise the bar for modeling rigor, business judgment, and executive storytelling.

Requirements

  • 8 or more years of recent experience in strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting, including significant experience supporting deal flow, business development, or commercial partnerships.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Deep hands-on experience owning finance workstreams for complex commercial agreements.
  • Experience serving as a senior finance partner in negotiations with C-suite and VP-level executives.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills in Excel or Google Sheets, including multi-scenario and sensitivity analyses.
  • Strong command of accounting fundamentals and unit economics.
  • Ability to build, reconcile, and present partner- and portfolio-level P&Ls and cash-flow impacts.
  • Ability to communicate complex analyses and recommendations clearly and convincingly in writing and verbally.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or relevant advanced degree.
  • Experience in a marketplace, platform, gig economy, grocery delivery, or consumer internet company.
  • 2 or more years of direct people management experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with BI tools and AI workflows.
  • Experience building pricing frameworks, rate-card architecture, and enterprise-scale deal desk processes.
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition and partnership accounting for multi-element arrangements.
  • Success managing fast-moving pipelines with multiple concurrent deals and cross-functional stakeholders.

Compensation and Benefits

  • ATS-listed base salary range: $174,000–$219,500 USD annually.
  • The role is remote and base pay depends on permanent work location.
  • Eligible for a new-hire equity grant and annual refresh grants.
  • Market-competitive compensation and benefits are provided based on work location.
