Staff AI Product Analyst, Product Management
The Staff Product Analyst will shape measurement strategy for Grafana’s AI products by defining KPIs, guiding instrumentation and experimentation, building dbt models, and translating user behavior data into product recommendations. The role requires strong SQL, product analytics, visualization, and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Partner cross-functionally across Product to establish top-level KPIs, dashboards, and product roadmap planning.
- Define success measures for AI-powered product experiences, including adoption, engagement, quality, retention, and user outcomes.
- Guide product-data instrumentation with Product Design, Product Management, and Engineering teams to enable reliable analysis of AI features and workflows.
- Design, evaluate, and interpret experiments to assess new AI capabilities and inform product decisions.
- Develop dbt models to transform and test user behavior data in partnership with Analytics Engineering.
- Influence Product Analytics best practices and help define standards as the company scales.
- Contribute to the long-term vision and strategy for Product Analytics, balancing near-term needs with scalable solutions.
Requirements
- Experience partnering across product and engineering organizations.
- Familiarity with product KPIs and frameworks such as DAU/MAU, funnels, and A/B testing.
- Experience defining and tracking success metrics for complex product areas, ideally including AI-powered features or workflows.
- Strong SQL skills, including writing complex and efficient queries.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, Omni, Hex, or Grafana.
- Experience writing dbt models, implementing product analytics tools such as Heap, Pendo, Amplitude, or FullStory, and using Git for version control.
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor or Claude Code to prototype and iterate across analysis, data modeling, instrumentation, visualization, and code development.
- Excellent communication skills, including explaining technical topics to non-technical audiences and maintaining cross-functional relationships.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of observability.
- Familiarity with Airflow or Prefect for generating ad hoc ETL jobs.
Compensation and Benefits
- Canada base compensation range: $164,490–$197,389 CAD.
- Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skill set.

- Remote-only global culture.
- 30 days of annual leave per year, including three Grafana Shutdown Days, subject to local legislation.
