Hardware Technician
Hands-on Hardware Technician supporting 3D printing, rapid prototyping, mechanical assembly, and lab infrastructure across engineering spaces. The role requires strong fabrication and printer-operation experience, with machining, soldering, wiring, and CAD experience preferred.

Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain SLA and FDM 3D printers, including troubleshooting and material handling.
- Fabricate and finish rapid-prototype parts using shop tools and basic fabrication equipment.
- Perform mechanical assembly of drone hardware and similar systems.
- Install, modify, and maintain lab and shop infrastructure, including benches, shelving, and test equipment.
- Maintain organization and functionality across shared lab spaces.
- Move between multiple labs and tasks to support engineering teams.
- Independently identify and execute the highest-priority tasks in a fast-paced lab environment.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience operating, troubleshooting, and handling materials for 3D printers.
- Experience with shop tools such as saws, drill presses, sanders, and other fabrication equipment.
- Experience with mechanical assembly, ideally involving multirotors, RC aircraft, or similar systems.
- Experience setting up or improving lab or shop environments.
- Ability to work on your feet and move between multiple tasks and locations throughout the day.
- Ability to proactively identify and execute priority work in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with general lab operations, consumables management, and maintenance routines.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with manual or CNC mills.
- Basic soldering, wiring, or cable harnessing experience.
- Experience with CAD tools such as Fusion.
- FAA Part 107 certification, or willingness to obtain it within the first 60 days of employment.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual base salary: $149,000–$180,000 USD.
