Responsibilities
- Establish diagnostics requirements for electronic control modules and I/O in collaboration with Manufacturing, Validation, and Product Development teams.
- Design, develop, and validate on-board and off-board diagnostic test tools for diagnostic codes, alerts, and control functions.
- Develop standardized technical requirements and process flows for controller programming tools.
- Partner with Service Documentation to create diagnostic, programming, and repair procedures.
- Improve wiring-system serviceability, including bundle routing, connectors, terminals, retention clips, and schematics.
- Participate in defining requirements related to vehicle serviceability.
- Engage with field technicians to identify service challenges and improve diagnostic strategies, tools, and workflows.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Automotive Technology.
- 5+ years of relevant vehicle diagnostics experience.
- Proficiency with automotive diagnostic tools or equipment design.
- Experience with vehicle communication networking protocols and related tools.
- Ability to interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, connector end views, and pinouts.
- Experience designing and developing products through the product lifecycle, including product and process validation.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with service information, diagnostics, or technical authoring.
- Practical technical or field diagnostic experience.
