Designer & Detailer , Modular R&D
Creates fabrication-ready mechanical and structural models and drawings for modular data center units, covering steel, skids, piping, assemblies, and revision-controlled release packages. Requires hands-on fabrication detailing experience and knowledge of welds, bolts, tolerances, and manufacturing standards.
About the job
Responsibilities
- Produce detailed mechanical and structural models and drawings for fabrication, including structures, skids, piping, and assemblies.
- Detail steel and mechanical systems to fabrication level, including connections, penetrations, pipe spools, weld symbols, bolt callouts, dimensions, and BOM-linked parts.
- Turn engineering changes into updated, released drawing packages with clean revision tracking.
- Own model hygiene and enforce standards, libraries, templates, and naming conventions.
- Design and industrialize factory-built modular data center units.
- Detail structures, skids, and piping systems to the weld and bolt level.
- Absorb engineering changes across in-flight units while maintaining revision control.
Requirements
- Experience detailing structural steel, skids, piping, or modular assemblies for fabrication in a fabrication shop, skid builder, or modular manufacturing environment.
- Ability to produce drawing packages that provide fabricators with all required weld symbols, bolt callouts, and dimensions.
- Experience modeling to standards and maintaining clean parts, templates, and naming conventions.
- Ability to manage engineering revisions without version-control errors.
- Knowledge of welds, bends, tolerances, and fabrication clearances.
- Understanding of fabrication redlines and how they inform detailing.
