Staff Product Manager

Leads strategic product initiatives for identity and security, including workload federation, developer access management, and authorization for AI agents and MCP clients. Requires 8+ years in product management, security architecture, or technical leadership and deep IAM and cloud security expertise.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Set and champion a multi-year product strategy across interrelated identity areas, aligning dependencies and investments to broader objectives.
  • Identify cross-cutting customer and market opportunities, build business cases for investment, and present clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Lead workload identity federation and programmatic access initiatives across cloud and enterprise identity environments.
  • Define secure authorization approaches for AI agents and MCP clients, including delegation, identity lifecycle, policy, and administrative controls.
  • Drive developer-first access management so security controls enhance rather than obstruct developer velocity.
  • Partner with engineering, design, GTM, and cross-functional leadership to validate enterprise requirements, prioritize initiatives, and measure feature adoption.
  • Monitor evolving cloud security paradigms, standards such as SPIFFE/SPIRE and O4AA, and AI access patterns to guide executive decision-making.
  • Represent the security and identity vision at industry events, customer advisory boards, and executive briefings.
  • Demonstrate creativity, innovation, and a bias toward action.

Requirements

  • 8+ years, or equivalent experience, in Product Management, Security Architecture, or Technical Leadership focused on IAM, Cloud Security, or Enterprise Infrastructure.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and leading through ambiguity without direct authority, including establishing decision frameworks or operating mechanisms that improve execution.
  • Deep knowledge of authentication, authorization, federation protocols (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM), and policy-based access management (RBAC/ABAC).
  • Hands-on familiarity with cloud identity models across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, as well as secret-reduction strategies such as IAM roles, short-lived tokens, and vaultless access.
  • Conceptual and practical understanding of AI agent workflows, tool-calling interfaces (MCP), and non-human identity security challenges.
  • Track record of building intuitive developer or administrative experiences for complex backend and infrastructure technologies.
  • Strong executive presence, public speaking ability, and experience engaging directly with CISO and CIO stakeholders.
  • Ability to serve as a trusted subject-matter expert, mentor other PMs, and raise the quality of product thinking across teams.
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with zero-trust architectures, SPIFFE/SPIRE, or machine-to-machine service meshes.
  • Understanding of database security models, including TLS/x509, SASL, field-level encryption, and audit logging.
  • Familiarity with governance models for autonomous AI workloads and multi-tenant authorization.
  • Participation in security standards bodies, industry panels, or open-source identity communities.
  • Advanced degree such as an M.Sc., MBA, or Ph.D. in a technical or business discipline.

Success Measures

  • 2 months: Build a comprehensive understanding of MongoDB Atlas and core database identity architectures, mapping technical debt alongside emerging workload and agentic identity requirements.
  • 4 months: Establish trusted relationships across Engineering, UX, and GTM; deliver an audited, prioritized stakeholder matrix and product hypothesis framework for machine identity capabilities.
  • 6 months: Own and execute the identity roadmap while driving measurable enterprise customer adoption.

Compensation and Benefits

  • U.S.-based candidates: base salary range of $151,000–$297,000 USD.
  • Eligible benefits may include equity, employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks of fully paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, a 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings.
