Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the claims experience strategy and roadmap, emphasizing operational efficiency across workflow tools, automation, ML-powered insights, and customer-facing experiences.
- Lead end-to-end product work for major software migrations and platform evolution, including discovery, planning, rollout, change management, and impact measurement.
- Partner with claims professionals, operations, finance, and actuarial teams to understand workflows and pain points, designing tools that reduce manual overhead and increase team capacity.
- Maintain a clear connection between internal tools and the broker and policyholder experience.
- Use AI across core product tasks and partner with engineering and data science on scalable automation paths.
- Create detailed use cases, product requirements, documentation, and feature trade-off explanations for diverse stakeholders.
- Use quantitative and qualitative data to define success metrics, prioritize initiatives, and make informed trade-offs.
- Lead complex cross-functional initiatives across multiple teams and systems, managing dependencies and delivery quality.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building and shipping software products, ideally in SaaS, fintech, or related domains.
- Track record of taking products or major features from problem definition through launch and iteration.
- Experience leading migrations or systems transformations involving critical internal or enterprise systems.
- Strong customer experience orientation and ability to understand internal workflows while maintaining focus on end customers.
- Experience using AI tools in daily product work and willingness to expand expertise.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including explaining complex technical and operational concepts.
- Demonstrated success delivering strategic and company goals with measurable customer and business impact.
- Ability to balance short-term execution with long-term platform and experience investments.
- Comfort working through change and ambiguity in rapidly growing environments.
- Strong influence and collaboration skills, including driving alignment without formal authority.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with insurance or other regulated financial products, including underwriting, policy administration, claims, or compliance-heavy workflows.
- Experience with enterprise systems such as Salesforce, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
- Experience working with data science and ML teams on predictive models, risk scores, or automated decisioning.
- Familiarity with cyber risk, security operations, or incident response workflows.
Compensation and Benefits
- In Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario, the base salary range is $164,000–$214,000 per year.
- In all other Canadian locations, the base salary range is $147,000–$197,000 per year.
- Salary is determined by factors including education, skills, qualifications, experience, credentials, and geographic location.
