What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve sales targets and expand market presence within the defense sector.
- Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential threats within the defense industry, along with providing insights and recommendations to the Senior Leadership team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within the Department of Defense (DoD), military branches, and defense contractors.
- Lead the preparation and submission of high-quality proposals, and negotiate favorable contracts to develop new business.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s products, including technical specifications, capabilities, and applications, and collaborate with the engineering team to align offerings with client needs and market demands.
What You’ll Need
- Minimum of 8-10 years of business development experience, with a focus on selling weapons or optical systems to military clients.
- Demonstrated success in securing and managing large-scale defense contracts.
- Deep understanding of military procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Strong network within the defense industry, particularly within the Washington, DC area.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic business development plans.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or military experience is preferred.
