Commercial Finance
Serve as financial co-pilot to commercial, product, and growth teams at PrizePicks. Own revenue forecasting, build models for promotions/product investments, deliver executive analysis, and drive KPIs linking product behavior to financial outcomes. Requires 10+ years finance experience with strong modeling and commercial instincts.
About the job
What You'll Do
- Partner with commercial leaders across Product, Marketing, and Operations to translate strategy into financial plans, business cases, and post-mortem analysis.
- Own the Revenue Forecast Model for the business, including top-line revenue, key performance metrics, LTV, CAC, payback, and cohort-level analysis.
- Drive the rolling forecast and annual operating plan cycles partnering with FP&A and business owners to deliver accurate, defensible, and decision-ready outputs.
- Build and maintain financial models for promotional spend, pricing changes, new sport launches, market expansion, and product feature investments.
- Deliver executive-ready analysis on commercial performance, including weekly/monthly business reviews, board materials, and ad-hoc deep dives for the CEO, CFO, and Head of Commercial Finance.
- Develop and monitor KPIs that connect product behavior (e.g., Sports UX and Trader UX engagement) to financial outcomes, surfacing risks and opportunities early.
- Benchmark against the market by tracking competitor economics and industry trends across prediction markets and fantasy sports (e.g., Kalshi, Polymarket, DFS peers) to inform strategic positioning.
- Improve the toolkit by upgrading models, dashboards, and data pipelines — partnering with Data and Engineering to scale repeatable analytics in BigQuery, Looker, and Excel/Sheets.
- Mentor and uplevel junior analysts on the team, raising the bar on analytical rigor, communication, and business partnership.
What You'll Bring
- 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, commercial finance, strategic finance, investment banking, consulting, or a related analytical function - ideally with at least 5 years inside a high-growth B2C tech or gaming business.
- Exceptional modeling skills. Advanced Excel/Google Sheets is a given; you have built complex driver-based models from scratch and know when a model is over- or under-engineered for the question at hand.
- Strong commercial instincts. You can move from a P&L line to a customer behavior to a product decision and back, while leading initiatives end-to-end and driving top-line impact.
- Comfort with data at scale. Working knowledge of SQL and experience pulling from data warehouses (BigQuery preferred).
- Exec level communication. You can compress a messy analysis into a one-page narrative for executives and tailor the message to the audience.
- Bachelor’s Degree Required - MBA or CFA preferred.
What makes you stand out
- MBA | CFA.
- Experience in sports betting, fantasy sports, prediction markets, iGaming, or another regulated B2C category.
- Familiarity with marketing mix modeling, incrementality testing, or LTV/CAC frameworks at scale.
