Senior Data Scientist / Analyst, Finance
Build and own finance reporting models, reconcile ledger and platform activity, and analyze fees, incentives, revenue, and trader retention. The role requires 7+ years of experience, expert SQL, data science methods, accounting knowledge, and cloud data warehouse experience.

Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the financial reporting layer in the data warehouse, including modeled tables used for close, forecasting, and board reporting.
- Reconcile general ledger data with platform data to compare recorded business activity against actual platform activity.
- Transform transaction, fee, and trading activity data into clean, reliable financial reports.
- Analyze fee structures and their effects on volume, revenue, and trader behavior.
- Measure the return on incentives and promotions, including costs, revenue generated, and trader retention.
- Partner with finance on monthly close, variance analysis, forecasts, and investor reporting.
- Replace ad hoc requests with recurring reporting and collaborate with analytics engineers to promote it into the modeled layer.
- Create thorough documentation for reports and data models.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in data analysis, data science, financial analysis, or a similar field, including production reporting used by finance teams.
- Expert SQL skills, including complex joins across transaction-level data.
- Data science experience with causal inference, quasi-experimental methods, or predictive modeling in Python or R.
- Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals, including general ledger structure, accruals, and revenue recognition.
- Experience with a modern cloud data warehouse such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or ClickHouse.
- Strong accuracy and reconciliation practices.
- Ability to translate between finance and engineering teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment with frequently changing business logic.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with dbt or similar transformation tooling.
- Familiarity with on-chain data or crypto accounting.
- Experience in fintech, crypto, prediction markets, or other data-intensive financial products.
