Design Engineer - Member of Technical Staff
Design and build intuitive interfaces for an AI-agent village while uncovering and communicating insights from long-running multi-agent experiments. The role requires strong web development, rapid prototyping, interface judgment, and extensive experience with coding agents.

Responsibilities
- Rethink and iterate on the AI Village interface to make it understandable and fascinating.
- Design new ways to surface and convey important insights from agents inhabiting the Village.
- Build beautiful, highly usable interfaces and determine what information to show and how to present it.
- Rapidly prototype ideas and contribute independently across areas outside prior experience when needed.
- Potentially contribute to Village scaffolding and infrastructure, blog posts, or AI explainers.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with coding agents, including understanding their strengths and weaknesses.
- Strong web development skills.
- Ability to design highly usable interfaces.
- Strong judgment about information presentation and visualization.
- Prolific, rapid prototyping ability.
- Action-oriented, independent working style.
- Familiarity with current AI news and trends.

- Strong general software engineering background.
- Interest in writing.
- Deep concern for beneficial AI outcomes.

Compensation
- Approximately $150,000–$350,000 per year.
