Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and ship production features across backend APIs, data pipelines, integrations, case management interfaces, and customer-facing tools.
- Own features end to end from requirements gathering through implementation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Build scalable REST APIs and microservices orchestrating checks across compliance vendors.
- Develop case-management workflows and business logic for KYB and AML processes.
- Create pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and routing compliance data at scale.
- Integrate third-party identity and compliance APIs and map complex vendor responses.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code with documentation.
- Participate in code reviews and improve engineering practices.
- Debug production issues and own incident resolution.
- Optimize performance, reliability, and cost efficiency; build monitoring, alerting, and observability.
- Collaborate with product managers, compliance experts, and customer success teams.
- Contribute to technical decisions, architecture discussions, and engineering workflows.
Requirements
- 0–2 years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production systems.
- Strong programming fundamentals in at least one modern backend language, such as Python, Go, Java, or Node.js.
- Experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, or distributed systems.
- Understanding of relational databases, including PostgreSQL or MySQL, and data modeling.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and modern deployment practices.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, and business-to-technical translation skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in fintech, RegTech, payments, fraud detection, or risk detection.
- Knowledge of KYC/KYB, AML, sanctions screening, or adverse media workflows.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS.
- Familiarity with MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Elasticsearch.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and managing vendor relationships at scale.
- Frontend development experience with React or TypeScript.
- Experience with ML/AI systems or data-intensive applications.
- Kubernetes, Terraform, or infrastructure-as-code experience.
