Software Engineer
Build and operate scalable, reliable shared infrastructure and platform systems for Yext’s customer platform. The role requires at least one year of software engineering experience, strong software fundamentals, and fluency in a programming language such as Java, Go, C++, or Python.

Responsibilities
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and ongoing operation.
- Design, implement, and deploy highly scalable and reliable systems.
- Develop storage systems, libraries, and frameworks.
- Contribute ideas for new features and identify opportunities to improve products, systems, and engineering practices.
- Collaborate with engineering colleagues and partners across the company.
- Write clean, tested, and well-documented code.
- Use AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully to accelerate engineering work, explore solutions, improve code quality, and reduce repetitive tasks.
- Critically evaluate, test, and validate AI-generated output.
- Maintain ownership of AI-assisted work, including its correctness, security, maintainability, and alignment with engineering standards.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent college-level education.
- At least 1 year of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Fluency with Java, C++, Python, or a similar programming language; the team primarily uses Java and Go.
- Ability to critically evaluate technical solutions, including code and recommendations produced by AI tools.
- Experience using, or demonstrated interest in learning, AI-assisted development tools in a responsible engineering workflow.
- Sound judgment regarding data privacy, intellectual property, security, and confidential information when working with AI tools.
- Openness to new technologies and creative solutions.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation
- Annual base pay range: $111,600–$229,000 USD.
- Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage; life insurance; short- and long-term disability; a 401(k) retirement plan; vacation and sick leave.
- Eligible employees may receive variable pay based on performance.
