Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver complex features end-to-end, own subsystems, mentor engineers, and raise technical standards using Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and AWS.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement complex features end-to-end; own subsystems and navigate existing codebases with architectural discernment
- Use AI tooling as an accelerant while applying judgment on correctness, security, and alignment with system direction
- Participate in design reviews; propose sound technical designs and identify scalability, performance, and reliability risks
- Scope and estimate accurately; deliver features from requirements through rollout and post-release monitoring
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and pairing; provide substantive feedback
- Drive improvements in team practices — testing patterns, observability, code organization
- Explain technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
- Production-grade Ruby on Rails experience
- PostgreSQL with confidence in data modeling and query performance
- Experience building integrations with external systems (REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, third-party vendor connections)
- Familiarity with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment fundamentals
- Familiarity with AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot) with critical evaluation skills
- Strong ownership mindset and accountability for outcomes
- Experience mentoring engineers and improving team practices
