Build and operate scalable full-stack distributed applications using C#/.NET, TypeScript, React, and AWS. The role requires production experience across microservices, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and troubleshooting in both cloud-native and customer-hosted environments.

Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and maintain high-performance, scalable, secure distributed applications.
- Develop backend services and cloud APIs using C#/.NET and TypeScript, plus responsive front-end applications using TypeScript and React.
- Design and implement loosely coupled, independently deployable microservices using AWS services including DynamoDB, RDS, SQS, Lambda, and API Gateway.
- Create and maintain automated unit, integration, contract, end-to-end, and UI tests.
- Implement and maintain GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines for backend and front-end applications.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues involving service communication, CPU, memory, network bottlenecks, and AWS service performance.
- Instrument services with OpenTelemetry or equivalent observability tooling.
- Contribute to SLO definition and MTTR reduction efforts.
- Collaborate with product managers, technical leads, and engineers to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions.
- Communicate technical decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in backend service development with C#/.NET.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React.
- Experience operating software in on-premises/customer-hosted and cloud-native multi-tenant environments.
- Production experience with AWS DynamoDB, RDS, SQS, or an equivalent cloud provider.
- Experience with microservices patterns, including service discovery, API gateways, messaging/queueing, and data partitioning.
- Experience with automated testing at multiple levels.
- Strong Git skills and hands-on experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
- Strong production troubleshooting skills for distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of cloud-native architecture and AWS best practices.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, structured logging, distributed tracing, and metrics-based alerting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, analytical ability, and attention to detail.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with Docker.
- Experience defining AWS infrastructure with CloudFormation or AWS CDK.
- Experience with performance tuning and scalable solution design.
- Experience with scientific instrument software or Chromatography Data Systems, such as Waters Empower, Thermo Chromeleon, Cytiva UNICORN, or Agilent OpenLab.
- Knowledge of instrument integration patterns and practices.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $170,000-$220,000 USD.
