System Administrator - Privacy

Own and operate Rover’s privacy technology stack, integrations, consent workflows, and DSAR automation while building AI-assisted processes. The role requires SaaS administration experience, privacy-platform expertise, API troubleshooting skills, and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the privacy technology platform, including workflows, assessments, consent management, DSAR automation, and reporting.
  • Coordinate consent and marketing-preference workflows with Marketing, Legal, and Engineering; ensure preference signals are captured, synchronized, and enforced downstream.
  • Manage APIs and integrations connecting the privacy platform with other systems, including authentication, error handling, and monitoring.
  • Manage DSAR fulfillment end to end by monitoring connectors, success rates, and blocking errors.
  • Maintain RoPA and data maps, validate data inventories, and onboard new data sources.
  • Lead integration projects from design through go-live.
  • Support privacy and security incident response through platform triage and technical evidence collection.
  • Build AI-assisted automation for repetitive privacy operations, with human review for compliance-sensitive output.
  • Maintain configurations, runbooks, and troubleshooting documentation; mentor junior team members.
  • Manage technical vendor escalations and engage professional services when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2–5 years administering SaaS platforms, including experience leading moderately complex projects.
  • Hands-on experience with an enterprise privacy management platform, including consent management, DSAR automation, and data discovery.
  • Working knowledge of REST APIs, OAuth/API keys, webhooks, and integration troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of SaaS architecture, environments, sandbox-to-production workflows, and change management.
  • Strong independent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously and escalate appropriately.
  • Practical experience using AI/LLM tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot to automate workflows, draft documentation, or accelerate troubleshooting.

Nice to Have

  • Vendor certification in OneTrust, Ketch, DataGrail, TrustArc, or a similar platform.
  • Cloud fundamentals certification in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • GDPR, CCPA, or global privacy regulation awareness.
  • Scripting experience with Python or JavaScript.
  • IAM/SSO knowledge.
  • Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor, or with calling LLM APIs directly.
  • Awareness of AI governance frameworks including the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, or ISO 42001.
