Product Designer, App (NYC)

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end Eight Sleep app experience: information architecture, low-fidelity wireframes, high-fidelity mockups.
• Conduct usability studies, user interviews, and leverage data to validate designs.
• Iterate designs using qualitative and quantitative customer insights to improve app experience, reduce churn, and increase engagement.
• Build, document, and organize UI components in design library for consistency.
• Align with Product and Brand stakeholders, present design updates to C-suite.
• Serve as subject matter expert for app design patterns, interactions, and mobile trends.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Marketing to ship features.

Requirements

• 4+ years experience in UX and UI, strong portfolio with live mobile examples.
• Shipped designs to public users with data proving success or failure.
• Consider technical implications and balance user value with effort.
• Experience coaching junior designers, collaborating with PMs and Engineers.
• Obsessed with simplicity and high aesthetic quality.
• Independent thinker, manage end-to-end design in ambiguous environments.
• Able to iterate fast, write clear agendas/decks, present to C-suite.
• Open to occasional travel (San Francisco, Milan).
• Bachelor’s degree in related design field or equivalent.

Nice-to-Haves

• Built iconic consumer-facing mobile apps at small/mid-size tech startups (with data/reviews).
• Experience designing mobile apps for Android.
