Product Engineering Lead

Responsibilities

  • Drive product engineering outcomes and ship products customers love.
  • Remain hands-on by prototyping, fixing bugs, de-risking projects, and improving engineering workflows.
  • Set and maintain high standards for reliability, security, performance, and product polish.
  • Own software end-to-end, including deployment, reliability, and production operations.
  • Grow engineers through clear feedback, career development, and high performance standards.
  • Attract and hire exceptional, diverse engineers.
  • Partner closely with product and design on product quality and user experience.
  • Set technical direction and make architectural decisions that keep the product stack simple, reliable, and fast to develop.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience managing engineers and leading teams through complex projects and measurable outcomes.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years managing a team of 5+ engineers.
  • Full-stack product engineering experience with deep expertise in scalable web infrastructure.
  • Experience building distributed systems serving millions of users.
  • Understanding of reliability engineering, secure software, and production-quality systems.
  • Strong product judgment and an understanding of what makes products feel polished and intuitive.
  • Experience shipping a product from zero to one or serving as a core engineer on a transformative project.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building AI-centered products.
  • Consumer hardware product experience, particularly on the software side.
  • Experience with Python, TypeScript, Google Cloud, and Kubernetes.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary: $250,000–$320,000.
