Responsibilities
- Lead, hire, and mentor Applied AI Engineers supporting Codex customers across strategic accounts.
- Own the operating model and technical engagement strategy, guiding customers from exploration to scaled adoption.
- Design and implement AI-enhanced development workflows, agentic systems, automations, evaluations, and scalable application architectures.
- Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex customer implementations and engineering challenges.
- Partner with Sales, Product, Research, and Engineering to align customer outcomes with product direction and roadmap priorities.
- Establish repeatable technical patterns, playbooks, reference architectures, and best practices for AI-powered software development.
- Coach engineers to act as trusted technical partners to engineering leaders, executives, and technical customer teams.
- Translate customer engagement insights into feedback for Product, Research, and Engineering.
- Promote safe, reliable, and effective adoption of AI-powered development workflows.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in deeply technical, customer-facing roles such as applied engineering, solutions architecture, deployment engineering, or technical consulting.
- 2+ years leading technical teams, including hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers.
- Experience building or deploying generative AI, developer platforms, agentic systems, or cloud-based software solutions in production.
- Strong hands-on software engineering experience with programming languages such as Python or JavaScript.
- Understanding of modern software development lifecycles and how AI and coding agents affect software design, development, testing, and maintenance.
- Ability to work directly with customer engineering teams on ambiguous problems and turn technical approaches into working solutions.
- Strong communication skills for technical and executive audiences.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and build teams and operating models from first principles.
- Strong ownership, humility, technical judgment, and commitment to customer and team success.
- Commitment to the safe and beneficial development of AI.
Compensation
- Annual salary: $251,000–$335,000.
