Responsibilities
Architecture & Strategy
- Own the end-to-end technical architecture for Finance systems, including ERP, close management, planning and consolidation, data pipelines, and adjacent tooling.
- Develop and maintain a Finance systems roadmap aligned with Reddit’s growth, M&A activity, and evolving reporting requirements.
- Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions and provide technical guidance for Finance technology investments.
- Establish and enforce architectural standards, integration patterns, and data governance practices across the Finance technology stack.
- Partner with Corporate Engineering, Data Engineering, and Security to ensure Finance systems are scalable, compliant, and well integrated.
Hands-On Systems Engineering
- Personally own delivery of systems engineering work.
- Configure, integrate, and maintain Finance platforms such as NetSuite, Workday, Coupa, Zip, and Adaptive, or comparable systems.
- Design and build integrations between Finance systems and upstream and downstream data sources.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation for Finance system issues.
- Support M&A activities, including systems due diligence, gap analysis, and integration planning.
- Design and manage scalable data pipelines using tools such as Workato and BigQuery to maintain a robust finance data warehouse.
Stakeholder Partnership
- Act as the primary technical liaison for Finance leadership, translating business requirements into architectural decisions and clearly communicating tradeoffs.
- Partner with Finance to understand pain points and proactively identify system improvements.
- Apply a demand-management mindset to intake by helping stakeholders articulate needs, estimate effort, and sequence work effectively.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, systems engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Experience designing and implementing Finance technology stacks, including ERP, procure-to-pay, or record-to-report systems.
- Familiarity with Finance technology platforms such as NetSuite, Workato, Adaptive, Zip, Coupa, Ramp, Workday, and Salesforce, or comparable systems.
- Hands-on proficiency with systems integration, including APIs, ETL/ELT, and iPaaS tools.
- Experience with data modeling in a Finance context.
- Ability to operate across abstraction levels, from executive architecture discussions to technical implementation details.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain systems architecture to both CFOs and data engineers.
- Experience building and managing data pipelines, including familiarity with iPaaS platforms such as Workato and data warehouses such as BigQuery.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience supporting M&A workstreams, including due diligence, integration, and cutover.
- Familiarity with analytics engineering practices and tools such as Hex and Looker.
- Experience at a high-growth public technology company.
- Background working with Corporate Engineering or shared-services models.
- Exposure to SOX compliance considerations in systems design.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $180,200–$252,300 USD.
- Eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units; certain positions may also be eligible for commission.
