U.S. Indirect Tax Manager
Manages the U.S. indirect tax function across a complex multi-state SaaS environment, covering compliance, audits, technical tax analysis, reconciliations, and tax-engine optimization. Requires at least five years of progressive indirect-tax experience and strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Advise internal business partners on complex sales and use tax matters across multiple jurisdictions.
- Analyze and interpret state and local tax laws, regulations, and administrative guidance, including matters involving SaaS, digital products, and evolving tax frameworks.
- Evaluate ambiguous tax-law issues and support consistent, audit-ready positions.
- Review externally prepared sales and use tax returns for numerical accuracy and overall reasonableness.
- Prepare and maintain sales tax account reconciliations for accurate balance-sheet reporting.
- Manage U.S. indirect tax compliance, including business license tax, gross receipts tax, property tax, and related state and local filings.
- Identify systemic issues, risk areas, and control gaps across reports, systems, and filings.
- Lead state and local sales and use tax audits, including auditor interaction, negotiation of findings, and dispute resolution.
- Develop and defend audit positions with clear technical rationale and supporting documentation.
- Extend and optimize OneSource tax-engine configuration for accurate use-tax calculation and compliance workflows.
- Partner with Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Procurement on indirect-tax questions and business processes.
Requirements
- Strong technical foundation in U.S. indirect tax within complex, multi-state environments.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in indirect tax.
- Experience reviewing sales and use tax returns, including evaluating accuracy and the reasonableness of positions taken.
- Experience managing audits and communicating with taxing authorities and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, accounting, and time-management skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and think critically in ambiguous or evolving tax situations.
- Ability to work independently and drive projects to completion.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with OneSource and NetSuite strongly preferred.
- CPA preferred.
