About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test features for road network applications such as the Editor, Map Health monitor, and map validation pipeline.
  • Build out the content pipeline and automation that enables Cartographers to produce ZRN data accurately and quickly.
  • Create software requirements, design documentation, test plans, and other supporting documentation.
  • Contribute to all phases of the software development cycle including prototyping, requirements capture, design, implementation, and validation.
  • Build software and systems that enable the Cartography team, including 3D map editors and enterprise map health monitors.
  • Create new APIs and ensure users are supported as they build map-driven systems.
  • Build content validators, post-process tools, and other tools to aid Cartographers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science (or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of industry experience.
  • Fluency with Python or C++.
  • Experience with OpenGL or WebGL and graphics programming.
  • Experience with AWS and cloud based service providers.
  • Experience with Fast API and development of REST web services.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with React, Javascript, and web application development.
  • Experience with Qt or equivalent UI framework.
  • Experience with mapping, GIS systems, geometry, routing, or graph theory.
  • Experience with data/content pipelines (ETL, etc.).
