Facilities Engineer, Electrical

Designs, constructs, operates, and maintains critical facilities and electrical systems across Memphis and Southaven sites. Requires an engineering bachelor’s degree, at least two years of facilities or construction experience, and AutoCAD or Revit proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all phases of site development projects and schedules with other on-site groups.
  • Manage contractors, including requests for proposals, specifications, and supplier selection.
  • Provide engineering support to ensure construction and maintenance comply with applicable standards, codes, and specifications.
  • Commission, operate, and maintain facilities and mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Verify preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for HVAC, high-power systems, cranes, lighting, doors, roofs, security systems, and fire protection systems.
  • Develop cost estimates, material requisitions, plans, and specifications for multidisciplinary projects.
  • Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts through subcontractor close-out.
  • Prepare and coordinate capital expenditure processes and execute site capital projects within technical, budget, and schedule requirements.
  • Communicate building and maintenance activities and schedules to employees, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.
  • Respond to facility emergencies and maintain readiness procedures for hurricanes and other environmental threats.
  • Coordinate with the Space Force to acquire building permits and obtain required certificates and final inspections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in facilities engineering and/or construction.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel to other project sites.
  • Availability for extended hours and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in facility maintenance, including electrical, HVAC, and/or structural systems, and facility construction.
  • Ability to manage technically complex projects using independent judgment and initiative.
  • Experience reviewing and approving shop drawings, fabrication drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to produce fabrication drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Experience operating boom lifts, man lifts, forklifts, and cranes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Work Environment

  • Occasional exposure to extreme outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
  • Work may involve exposure to fumes, odors, and noise.
