Senior Accountant - General Ledger

Supports the multi-entity general ledger close, reconciliations, payroll and fixed-asset accounting, lease accounting, and monthly reporting. The role requires 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, audit-preparation experience, and familiarity with NetSuite and ASC 842.

Responsibilities

  • Support the general ledger close by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and balance-sheet supporting schedules across entities on a predictable, auditable cadence against a defined close calendar.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations across operating, money market, and card-settlement accounts, including third-party payment platforms; investigate and clear reconciling items.
  • Prepare monthly intercompany receivable and payable reconciliations, investigate out-of-balance positions, and support settlement processes.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries, accrued compensation, bonus, and PTO schedules, including GL mapping between the payroll platform and ledger.
  • Maintain prepaid schedules and amortization, the fixed asset register, capitalization and depreciation records for compute hardware, and lease schedules with ASC 842 accounting for data center and facility leases.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and balance-sheet and income-statement flux analyses with written commentary.
  • Support the NetSuite implementation, document close processes, write desktop procedures, and establish reconciliation and review controls.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on monthly close work.
  • Experience with balance-sheet close activities, including cash, intercompany, prepaids, fixed assets, and payroll accounting.
  • Experience supporting an external audit as a preparer and building self-supporting workpapers.
  • Excellent written communication and ability to explain variances and document conclusions.
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large transaction datasets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active CPA, CPA candidate, or strong public-accounting foundation.
  • Working knowledge of ASC 842.
  • Exposure to ASC 805 purchase accounting or multi-entity consolidation.
  • ERP experience, particularly NetSuite implementation or migration; familiarity with QuickBooks during transition.
