About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own key areas of the month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, using AI-assisted tools to support accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Maintain the general ledger and supporting schedules; investigate and resolve discrepancies while preserving strong documentation and internal controls.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, including timely processing, accurate GL coding, approvals, vendor payments, cash application, and aging reports.
  • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits and ensure successful audit completion.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, People, and Operations to support company growth.
  • Identify, pilot, and champion AI and automation opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or progress toward a CPA is preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience; public accounting and industry experience are preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes.
  • Hands-on experience with the general ledger, reconciliations, accounts payable/accounts receivable, and travel and expense operations.
  • High proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to independently reconcile and resolve discrepancies.
  • Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Direct accounting experience with accruals, prepaids, investments, internally used software, ASC 842 leases, revenue, foreign currency, or consolidation.
  • Experience at a high-growth or hyper-growth company.
  • Familiarity with modern accounting and expense tools, including ERP systems and corporate card or expense platforms.
