About the role
Responsibilities
Own key areas of the month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, using AI-assisted tools to support accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
Maintain the general ledger and supporting schedules; investigate and resolve discrepancies while preserving strong documentation and internal controls.
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, including timely processing, accurate GL coding, approvals, vendor payments, cash application, and aging reports.
Prepare documentation for internal and external audits and ensure successful audit completion.
Partner cross-functionally with Finance, People, and Operations to support company growth.
Identify, pilot, and champion AI and automation opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or progress toward a CPA is preferred.
3+ years of relevant accounting experience; public accounting and industry experience are preferred.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes.
Hands-on experience with the general ledger, reconciliations, accounts payable/accounts receivable, and travel and expense operations.
High proficiency in Excel.
Strong attention to detail and ability to independently reconcile and resolve discrepancies.
Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment.
Nice-to-Haves
Direct accounting experience with accruals, prepaids, investments, internally used software, ASC 842 leases, revenue, foreign currency, or consolidation.
Experience at a high-growth or hyper-growth company.
