Regional Employee Experience Manager
Manages employee experience, relations, performance processes, compliance, and HR service delivery for MongoDB employees and managers in Japan. The role requires 8+ years of progressive HR experience, strong knowledge of Japanese employment law, bilingual Japanese-English communication, and the ability to coach leaders in a hybrid, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities
- Partner with global HR business partners and centers of excellence to support people goals for assigned business units in Japan.
- Serve as the primary contact for escalated employee and manager questions and concerns in Japan.
- Coach and enable managers on setting expectations, providing feedback, and managing performance.
- Evaluate employee complaints and concerns, recommend appropriate actions, and conduct interventions when necessary.
- Develop and improve People processes and systems to enhance the employee and manager experience.
- Lead and manage direct reports while supporting their professional development.
- Monitor Japanese employment law, work rules, and HR legislation; advise managers, identify risks, and recommend solutions.
- Contribute to company policy development and enhancement.
- Enable managers and leaders, promote a values-based culture, and support an effective hybrid working environment.
- Advise and coach leaders to drive people development and business results.
- Maintain knowledge of HR, talent management, work rules, employment law, regulatory changes, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Support regional Benefits, HRSS, and Payroll teams with local administration, queries, and vendor management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- At least 8 years of well-rounded experience in progressive HR roles.
- Strong experience in performance management, coaching, business partnership, and HR operations.
- Strong Japanese and English communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage others.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese employment laws and regulations, including experience guiding employment matters and managing grievances, disputes, and investigations.
- Experience developing and implementing HR programs and driving operational excellence in a high-growth, complex organization.
- Strong organizational, project management, critical thinking, analytical, and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Adaptability and flexibility in a rapidly scaling environment with shifting tactical and strategic priorities.
- Comfort supporting administrative requirements related to Benefits, HRSS, and Payroll.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discreetly.
- Self-motivated, assertive, and comfortable in an accelerated learning environment.
