Senior Product Solutions Architect - Autonomous Incident Response
Provides architectural and hands-on technical guidance for enterprise adoption of Datadog’s Service Management suite, while creating reusable enablement assets and influencing product strategy. Requires strong engineering, observability, incident-response, automation, and customer-consulting experience.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Datadog Service Management products: App Builder, Incident Management, Event Management, Workflow Automation, and On-Call.
- Partner with Field teams to provide hands-on technical and architectural guidance to enterprise customers.
- Design on-call escalation policies, incident response workflows, event correlation pipelines, and custom internal tools with App Builder.
- Create reference architectures, technical guides, cookbooks, and documentation covering automated incident response, alert-noise reduction, runbook automation, and low-code application development.
- Build proofs of concept and small-scale deployments to validate solutions and reproduce real-world customer environments.
- Provide product feedback informed by field experience to help shape automation, on-call operations, and incident workflow roadmaps.
Requirements
- Strong engineering foundation with hands-on experience building and operating incident response programs, on-call rotations, or internal automation and tooling in production at scale.
- Ability to understand codebases, architectural decisions, tradeoffs, and implementation details.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and observability concepts including tracing, metrics, and logging.
- Experience with Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Familiarity with low-code/no-code application development concepts.
- Ability to operate in ambiguous technical domains, build cross-team context, and translate it into scalable solutions.
- Strong ownership, attention to detail, listening, and consultative skills.
- Experience supporting customers in complex or high-pressure situations, including live incidents.
- Able to sit for up to 4 hours and travel by auto, train, or air up to 40% of the time.
Nice-to-haves
- 5+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect or Sales Engineer supporting incident management, ITSM, on-call/paging, or workflow automation tools such as PagerDuty, Opsgenie, ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or Rundeck.
- Experience using Datadog or other observability tools in an SRE or DevOps capacity, including owning on-call responsibilities or building internal automation.
- Experience building custom applications or internal tools with low-code platforms such as Retool or App Builder.
Compensation and Benefits
- Estimated yearly salary: $185,000–$246,000 USD.
