Responsibilities
- Independently own large-scoped projects from discovery through launch, focusing on outcomes and customer impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve customer challenges.
- Improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of existing systems.
- Provide technical leadership, knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and engineering evangelism.
- Add capabilities to high-volume, fault-tolerant processing infrastructure.
- Enhance testing, monitoring, and continuous deployment infrastructure.
- Keep extremely sensitive data compartmentalized and secure.
- Make technical decisions for payroll, money movement, tax calculation, financial ledger, and payroll data platform capabilities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of professional hands-on experience.
- Mastery of modern server-side programming languages; Golang is a plus.
- Proficiency with SQL.
- Proficiency with cloud infrastructure management, preferably AWS.
- Experience supporting and mentoring other engineers and acting as a force multiplier.
- Experience working closely with designers and product managers.
- Strong judgment, resourcefulness, teamwork, communication, influence, and leadership.

Compensation and Benefits
- Base wage range: $188,000.00–$242,000.00 per year for the New York City office.
- Total compensation may vary based on skills, relevant experience, and work location.
