Responsibilities
- Lead high-impact, cross-functional projects across the Investments space.
- Architect, build, and scale brokerage trading and custody systems and processes.
- Develop systems supporting Mercury’s Treasury and Invest products and internal Investment Operations tools.
- Collaborate with product, operations, and compliance teams to deliver features for customers and internal users.
- Take product ownership, shape technical direction, and help lead the engineering team.
- Make architectural decisions, evaluate their long-term impact, and communicate technical tradeoffs.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Domain knowledge of broker-dealer trading and/or custody systems.
- Experience supporting individual securities, including equities and fixed income, as well as ETFs and mutual funds.
- Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects from inception through completion.
- Understanding of systems at scale and AWS infrastructure solutions.
- Strong ownership, attention to detail, and technical communication skills.
Compensation
- US employees: $200,700–$250,900 USD base salary.
- Canadian employees: $189,700–$237,100 CAD base salary.
- Total rewards include base salary, equity, and benefits.
