Customer Marketing Manager

Builds customer advocacy programs by turning customer outcomes into case studies, testimonials, references, events, and other proof points. The role requires strong relationship management, storytelling, communication, and cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Customer Success, Community, PR, and Product.

Responsibilities

  • Create, guide through approval, and distribute customer case studies, testimonials, and video stories across Sales and Marketing.
  • Build trusted relationships with strategically important customers and identify opportunities to publicly share their success.
  • Identify and invite customer speakers for events and webinars.
  • Connect customers with PR, social amplification, analyst surveys, and peer review opportunities such as G2.
  • Maintain a relationship history and manage internal AI tools that surface relevant customer stories to Sales.
  • Support customer marketing metrics and reporting, translating story output into reach and impact.
  • Recognize and celebrate customers who share their stories.
  • Manage the sales reference process, including fulfilling requests, maintaining Salesforce and self-service tools, matching advocates to opportunities, and avoiding over-asking customers.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Customer Community, Corporate Communications, PR, Analyst Relations, and Product.
  • Feed customer story themes and roadmap-relevant feedback back to Product.

Requirements

  • Experience in customer marketing, case studies, or advocacy content within B2B technology, or comparable storytelling experience in PR, communications, or content marketing.
  • Proven ability to turn customer relationships into public celebrations of success.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across customers, executives, Customer Success, and internal stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage customer legal and communications reviews.
  • Patient, strategic relationship management and strong storytelling judgment.
  • Ability to prioritize high-impact stories and work effectively in a small, fast-moving team.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted workflow tools and marketing systems.
