Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, ship, and maintain features that automate responses to legal, regulatory, and civil requests.
- Build and operate backend services, internal web tools, and pipelines connecting to upstream systems.
- Write high-quality, well-tested code and participate in design and code reviews.
- Design systems within microservice and event-driven architectures while handling sensitive customer data securely and accurately.
- Translate legal requirements into durable automated workflows with Counsel, Compliance, and Operations.
- Participate in on-call, incident response, and postmortems.
- Modernize services and improve reliability.
- Use AI-powered development tools responsibly to improve velocity and quality.
- Support other engineers through reviews and technical discussions.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software development or equivalent experience.
- Experience building and operating production software and delivering features end to end.
- Full-stack experience across backend services and user interfaces.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in complex systems.
- Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience using AI-powered developer tools and critically evaluating their output.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience with sensitive data such as PII or PCI, privacy, security, or regulatory requirements.
- Experience building internal tools, operational workflows, or case-management systems.
- Experience integrating LLMs or agents into production workflows.
- Experience modernizing long-lived, business-critical services.

Compensation
- Annual salary range: $153,000–$270,000 USD, depending on location, skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions.
