Senior Software Engineer - Core Video & Data

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership by breaking down complex engineering problems, advocating best practices, and guiding engineers while contributing to delivery.
• Design and evolve APIs, distributed systems, and large-scale data pipelines for the Global Sports Library.
• Address scalability, entity resolution, data consistency, and platform architecture challenges.
• Translate requirements into architectural proposals and guide implementation.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical coaching.
• Collaborate with leaders across disciplines to plan and deliver product enhancements.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and help maintain a strong team culture.
• Focus on outcomes, data-driven decisions, and efficient delivery.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in full-stack engineering.
• Experience with cloud-based systems and services.
• Advocacy for test-driven development (TDD) and continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
• Experience creating architectural proposals and coaching engineers through implementation.
• Collaborative, team-first approach and strong mentoring skills.

Nice-to-Haves

• Professional experience with C#, GraphQL, Elastic, MongoDB, and AWS.
• Experience with video encoding and on-demand rendering at scale.
• Interest in sports and familiarity with sports analytics.
• Experience working with hybrid or remote teams.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary range: £66,000–£111,000 GBP.
• Eligible for a long-term incentive (LTI) award.
