Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and scale distributed systems, digging into performance and reliability issues across filesystem, network, and storage stack.
• Write and debug in low-level languages with focus on efficiency, correctness, and safety.
• Self-host and manage infrastructure using build automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Work hands-on with distributed storage systems like Ceph or MinIO.

Requirements

• Comfortable writing and debugging in C, C++, Go, Rust, or Zig.
• Familiarity with distributed storage systems like Ceph or MinIO, or eager to learn.
• 2+ years of software development experience, ideally in performance-critical or distributed environments.
• Enjoy working in person 5 days a week in NYC.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with side hustles or startup projects.
• Comfortable creating and iterating on new processes quickly.
