About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic finance support for performance and brand marketing teams by owning forecasting, reporting, modeling, and business case development
  • Partner closely with marketing and marketing analytics to establish frameworks/benchmarks for measuring and scaling investments, pressure testing attribution and incrementality, and translating performance into actionable recommendations
  • Drive accountability and efficiency across marketing investments by tracking performance against targets, identifying risks and opportunities, challenging assumptions and investment roadmaps, and supporting tradeoff decisions to optimize ROI and marginal returns
  • Partner with marketing and marketing analytics leadership to support strategic planning processes, helping to prioritize initiatives, evaluate investment decisions, and ensure alignment with company growth and profitability goals
  • Build financial models and business cases to evaluate strategic initiatives, including new channel launches, creative investments, and market expansion opportunities
  • Develop and maintain driver-based financial forecasts for revenue, marketing spend, and key performance metrics, ensuring models are accurate, scalable, and decision-useful
  • Monitor performance against forecasts and targets, proactively identifying variances and translating insights into clear recommendations for stakeholders
  • Prepare materials for senior leadership that synthesize complex analyses into clear, actionable insights
  • Support ad hoc analyses and cross-functional projects to inform key business decisions and strategic initiatives
  • Improve financial processes, tools, and reporting to enhance efficiency, scalability, and clarity of insights

Requirements

  • 8+ years of total experience in a highly analytical role such as strategic finance, FP&A, analytics, investment banking, private equity, or consulting
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic finance, analytics, or an otherwise comparable role in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience partnering with marketing, growth, and/or marketing analytics teams to evaluate channel performance, inform roadmap and investment decisions, and operate in test-and-learn environments
  • Strong understanding of marketing and growth metrics (e.g., CAC, LTV, ROAS), with the ability to assess performance in contexts with imperfect attribution and evolving measurement frameworks
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and modeling best practices as well as strong analytical skills; experience with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) is a plus
  • Strategic mindset with exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to manage through ambiguity
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex financial concepts into clear and actionable insights for diverse audiences
  • Strong influencing and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and levels of the organization
  • Experience in technology, healthcare, and/or consumer marketplaces (a plus)

  • NYC Base Salary Range: $175,000–$215,000
