How You’ll Contribute

Specific Features:

  • Propose new features/modules based on the analysis of gathered data.
  • Identify, understand, and mitigate risks to the product roadmap and plans.
  • Develop and present the product roadmap to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create ROI models and business justifications for each product feature within the roadmap items.

Markets & Validations:

  • Utilize industry journals, publications, competitive datasets, and other data sources to identify and comprehend industry trends.
  • Benchmark Panopto’s offerings against competing SaaS solutions in the EdTech, L&D, video infrastructure, and platform integration spaces to inform strategic direction.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers to de-escalate issues and facilitate successful remediation through cross-functional teamwork.
  • Take a consultative approach when working with sales, customer success, and engineering to uncover the root needs behind feature requests.

Customer Focus:

  • For features that don’t meet customer expectations and predetermined success metrics, define the path to deprecation while gracefully extricating the company from commitment to the feature.
  • Conduct post-mortems and share results.
  • Measure and analyze existing features for opportunities to innovate and improve, providing additional benefits to customers.

Project Management:

  • Own the end-to-end delivery lifecycle of product initiatives within Agile sprints.
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies, manage stakeholder expectations on timelines, and maintain rigorous backlog grooming and sprint planning practices.

The Foundation for Success

  • 8–10 years of product management experience at a software or SaaS company, with a proven track record of proposing new features/modules, developing product roadmaps, and creating ROI models and business justifications for product features.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies, with experience serving as a product owner, leading sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to own delivery end-to-end, coordinate cross-team dependencies, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep domain experience in at least one of the following areas: higher education / EdTech, corporate learning & development (L&D), media / video infrastructure, or platform integrations (LMS, LTI, SSO, API ecosystems).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze data from various sources, including pipeline metrics, user behavior, customer feedback, and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Deep understanding of market demands and customer outcomes, with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate risks to product roadmaps and plans.
  • Ability to conduct post-mortems and analyze existing features to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Experience utilizing industry journals, publications, competitive datasets.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills.

What Sets You Apart

  • Experience with product discovery and prioritization frameworks such as Jobs-to-be-Done (JTBD), RICE scoring, Kano model, or Opportunity Solution Trees.
  • A consultative approach to stakeholder management.
  • Experience with video or media technology platforms, content management systems, or learning management systems in a SaaS environment.
  • Understanding of enterprise SaaS business models, including subscription metrics (ARR, churn, NRR), renewal dynamics, and customer lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with integration ecosystems such as LMS platforms (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle), LTI standards, SCORM, xAPI, and SSO/SAML.
